Deadline New York reports that Paramount has made a deal to make a 3D Justin Bieber biopic. You heard right, a 3D biographical film. Even more surprising/confusing is that Davis Guggenheim, director of the Oscar-winning AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH, is planning to direct. Really Davis? Really?

The film doesn't have a title, but Bieber will play himself in the film. The pic will be sprinkled with performances from his current concert tour. The film will come out February 11, 2011 on Valentine's Day weekend.
There is so much about this deal I don't understand. Why is Davis Guggenheim directing? Why Valentine's Day? Why 3D? Why, why, why?
To be honest, it makes sense. Valentine's Day has become quite the marketable holiday and Justin Bieber will bring in lots and lots (and lots) of money. I can already see the fangirls camping out in front of theaters.
Well at least we know what we'll all be doing this Valentine's Day. Forget taking your love to a fancy restaurant, take him/her to see 3D Bieber on the big screen! That'll bode well for your love life.
